Here is Annie’s first College list:

2. Confer With Trusted Others To Add Other Colleges
Share your list of preferred characteristics and preliminary college list with people whose opinions you respect. Ask for recommendations about colleges they think will be a good fit for you. People to consult include:
• Your parents, grandparents or older siblings
• Your high school counselor
• High school teachers
• An independent admissions counselor
• Family friends
3. Use An Internet College Search Program To Identify Other Colleges
Another way of generating ideas for other colleges is to use an Internet College Search programs:
College Board
www.collegeboard.com/student/csearch/index.html
College Navigator, U.S. Department of Education
www.nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator
Peterson’s
www.petersons.com/ugchannel/code/searches/srchCrit1.asp
Princeton Review
http://www.princetonreview.com/com.aspx
These and other search programs will come up with college names, but their lists won’t tell you if colleges match who you are as a student and person. Don’t worry; you can find that information on your own when you research the different colleges.
