4. Having put your college list into Reach, Good Chance and Pretty Sure Thing categories, now is the time to ask your high school counselor for feedback on your chances for admission at different colleges based your high school’s college acceptance record.
Your counselor should have the high school’s College Class Profile (which shows where graduating seniors from last year were accepted, and their corresponding GPA, SAT/ACT scores) with which to compare your academic background and college list with that of students who have graduated from your school.
If your school uses Naviance, a software program that manages the college admissions process for high schools, it can also provide a comparison of your GPA, test scores and college list with that of students who have graduated from your school.
