DEFINITION of pretty sure thing (aka, Safety, Good-Bet):
These are colleges at which you have a 75% or better chance of being admitted because your GPA and test scores meet or exceed applicants who have been admitted in the past. To be a Pretty Sure Thing,

• Your test scores are near or in the top 25% of accepted students

• The acceptance rate is above the 50th percentile

• You are reasonably sure you will be admitted

It’s very important that you are more than willing to attend any Pretty Sure Thing school if for some reason you should not be accepted to your Good Chance and Reach schools

1. If you haven’t already, write down your college list, and identify the 25th-75th Percentile Test Scores and Percentage of Acceptances for each of the colleges.

2. Now rank order the list by those Median Test Scores, highest scores first, all the way down to the lowest scores.
