FRESHMAN & SOPHOMORE YEAR TIMELINES FOR TAKING SUBJECT TESTS

JUNE
In June of your freshman and sophomore years, seriously consider taking the Subject Tests for any corresponding AP classes you are completing. If you have taken regular or even Honors classes, it usually makes sense to wait until after you have taken AP classes to take the relevant Subject Tests.

JUNIOR YEAR TIMELINES FOR TAKING SUBJECT TESTS

NOVEMBER
Remember, this is the only date when the Language with Listening tests are offered.

MAY OR JUNE
May or June is a good time to take the Subject Test for an AP class you are taking.

SENIOR YEAR TIMELINES FOR TAKING SUBJECT TESTS

Seniors Planning to Apply Early Decision or Early Action
OCTOBER
If you have not taken Subject Tests or the requisite number, the October testing date is the last time you can take the tests and make the early application deadlines.

Seniors Applying Regular Decision
If you have not taken Subject Tests in your junior year, you still have three chances for taking them as a senior: October, November and December. The sooner you are prepared for and get the Subject Tests out of the way, the sooner the colleges will have your completed application on file and the better you will feel.
