JUNIOR TIMELINE FOR EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
By the time you hit your junior year, you should be well settled in favorite activities. If, however, you haven’t done that, it is never too late to get involved.
Look for ways to make a difference – become an officer or leader; go beyond just being a member of a club or activity. Set the stage for reaching the peak of your involvement by your senior year.
• What you do with the summer before your senior year is of real interest to colleges. Look for special experiences, jobs or activities the beginning of
second semester, junior year. Many programs have applications and deadlines
that come due in March and April.
• Once again, don’t forget to keep a record of everything you do, as well as any awards or honors you get.
• This is the time to put together a first draft of your Activities Resume. See Your Activities Resume Guide or the Activities Resume Checklists for more info.
SENIOR TIMELINE FOR EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Senior Year is the time to show the highest development of an activity, skill or talent. However, since going through the college application process will take up a lot of free time, be sure that your extracurricular involvements are those that you really enjoy and are meaningful to you. This might be the time to cut out any that aren’t.
