DEFINITION:
Most colleges have essays as a part of their respective application forms; a few don’t. As students fill
out their applications they are likely to find one or more of the following: 1) very short answer questions ranging from a few words to one-to-four lines; 2) short answer essays asking for up to 250 words or 1/4 - 1/3 single-spaced page; 3) long answer essays that require between 250 and 500 words, or 1, 2 or 3 pages; 4) previously written class papers with teacher comments.

Very Short Essays
